If your child, or someone you know, is being bullied at school, please let us know. Churchill strives to be a bully free zone, but we can't do that without the support and help of our families. Together, we can Stomp Out Bullying!
Did you know that 1 in 4 students is bullied? Every 7 minutes a student is bullied at school. 160,000 students miss school each day for fear of being bullied. It's time to take a stand against bullying! On Monday, October 7th, students and staff are encouraged to wear a Churchill blue shirt, or any blue shirt, in support of the national Stomp Out Bullying campaign.
If your child, or someone you know, is being bullied at school, please let us know. Churchill strives to be a bully free zone, but we can't do that without the support and help of our families. Together, we can Stomp Out Bullying! Tommorrow night, you will have the opportunity to attend the Rachel's Challenge community event at the GHS auditorium at 7 p.m. The following is a brief overview of the program from the Rachel's Challenge website:
"Rachel's Challenge is a series of student empowering programs and strategies that equip students and adults to combat bullying and allay feelings of isolation and despair by creating a culture of kindness and compassion. The programs are based on the writings and life of 17 year-old Rachel Scott who was the first student killed at Columbine High School in 1999." Churchill reached their goal of selling 500 ducks! Thanks to everyone who purchased one or more ducks during this fantastic fundraiser for the Galesburg Public Schools Foundation. Money raised by the foundation goes to help support programs in our school district. Thanks again
Galesburg CUSD #205 schools will dismiss 55 minute early on September 9 & 10 due to expected heat conditions. Schools were already scheduled to release 55 minutes early on September 11 & 12 for after school meetings. Please refer to the schedule below for specific details.
